"The purifying aura from the brazier hasn't spread far enough yet." The brazier began releasing purifying aura, but you must wait for it to spread completely. You eliminated dangerous creatures nearby as you waited. When you returned from taking down the toxic creatures corroding the brazier, the purifying aura had fully dispersed.
