AION 2 Global Advanced Access Starts September 30 — Free Launch on October 5
The Global version of AION 2 is about to open its doors. NCSOFT has confirmed a paid Advanced Access window for Founder's Pack owners starting September 30, 2026, followed by the free-to-play global launch on October 5. AION 2 Global is PC-only and runs on Steam and the PURPLE launcher.

Founder's Packs
Advanced Access is not open to everyone. The Founder's Pack gives access 5 days before launch and is available on Steam and PURPLE. All three tiers include early access and a 30-day membership; the higher tiers add cosmetics.

The tiers differ only in cosmetics and items — early access and the membership are in all three. The packs have been on sale since July 22, 2026, and the 30-day membership was added to every pack, including those already purchased, on August 21.

Servers
In AION 2 each server houses one faction only. Every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian counterpart, so both factions get a home while still meeting in cross-faction modes such as the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts: the enemy players you meet there come from your paired server. At launch you choose Region → Faction → Server.

Pairings are not permanent: NCSOFT will update them periodically to keep the factions balanced. Per the Steam pre-release FAQ, confirmed server locations are North America, South America, Europe and Japan.
Pre-download & Playtest
- Pre-download is open on Steam and PURPLE. Buy a Founder's Pack, download the game, and allow decryption on September 30.
- The downloaded files are encrypted; the game decrypts them on launch — this is not a reinstall. Decryption time depends on your PC.
- Steam players who took part in the Launch Scale Test (September 17–18) must uninstall the Playtest app and download AION 2 separately. PURPLE players need no extra steps.
- Launch Scale Test progress did not carry over — it was wiped at the end of the test.
- Anti-bot measure: direct player-to-player trades are disabled; the Market is the central trading hub. When a server is full, members in good standing use a priority queue (a privilege that can be revoked for disciplinary action or suspected Terms of Service violations).
Good to know
- Languages (8): English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese, Korean — full audio in English, Japanese and Korean.
- Platform: PC only for the global launch. The game is playable with a controller, but full controller support is still being evaluated.
- Monetization: free-to-play at launch; NCSOFT published the details in a Team Update on the official site.
- No knowledge of the AION world or story is needed to start.
