Aion 2 Global: starting guide — what to do from day one

Who this guide is for. For those jumping in at the global launch who haven't played on Taiwan or Korea. Not missing important game elements matters more than grinding one thing: almost everything in Aion 2 is gated by daily limits, which means a missed day can't be "caught up" by playing 12 hours on the weekend. All dungeon, item, and system names below are links to our database, pulled straight from the game client: exact lists, levels, drops, and conditions are there.

1. How much time are you willing to play

This is the first decision, and it determines everything else. An account with one character and an account with three are two different games, because almost all content hinges not on your skill but on daily limits.

ModeHow much you playWhat to do
LittleUp to a couple of hours a dayOne main character; skip the alt section entirely. Priority: leveling to cap, the Daevanion board, mandatory dailies, and seasonal missions. Everything else — on a leftover basis.
A lot7–8 hours or moreYou need alts. Not for a "second character for later," but because entry limits are per character: alts run the same dungeons again and bring resources to your main. Plus separate Daeva Pass progress on each.

Practical rule. An alt only pays off if you actually log into it every day or at least several times a week. Three characters you abandon after a week give less than one with everything cleared.

2. Leveling: don't skip solo content

Solo content on the road to cap isn't "optional": it funds the Daevanion board.

The launch mistake is rushing to cap along a single route and skipping everything along the way. You can clear solo dungeons at cap — they become EASIER, so it's not a mistake, but it's more fun to do them while leveling, though from a character progression standpoint, it's a waste of time!

  • Clear all solo mini-dungeons — both yours and those on enemy territory. The latter are often ignored, and they're an EVEN more profitable source of the same progress.
  • Watch the portal opening timer. Portals run on a schedule: miss the window — you wait for the next one, and the day goes to waste.
  • Collect feathers — they're a progression currency, not inventory junk.
  • Take all quests along the way. The client database has fifteen hundred of them; on the leveling route that's experience, gear, and system unlocks.
  • All of this is the foundation for the Daevanion board. You'll have to clear them all anyway; it will diversify your gameplay and make it richer, but keep in mind they're EASIER to clear at cap!

3. Cap 45 / 50: five tasks run in parallel

At cap, progression stops being linear: you'll be working five key tasks for months.

At cap, linear leveling ends and five parallel tracks begin. You don't do them one after another — you run them simultaneously, because each has its own resource source and its own daily limit.

DirectionWhat to do and where to get it
ADaevanion boardsLevel all available ones, not a single "main." Farm sources: dungeons, shugo, achievements. This is the progression most noticeable in combat.
BArcana cardsLong-term priority: collected in sets, the effect comes from a completed set plus each card levels to 5, and then there's the task of getting a card with the right bonuses and skills — this is a long game.
CPets and GenusPet and soul leveling goes through the daily dungeon — Odylium Repository — and farming mobs and named mobs in dungeons and the open world/Abyss. Progression vouchers — Genus Insight.
DGold weaponEither PvP gear for Abyss points, or dungeon drops, or crafting and rolling the right specs. An extra stat slot is unlocked by philosopher's stones.
EPantheon: paintings and statuesSources — dungeons, Nightmare, world bosses, and the market. The slowest of the five tracks: that's exactly why you start it early.

4. Mandatory Dailies and Weeklies

Nightmare and its bosses — weekly content you can't afford to skip.

This is the list you clear every day, no questions asked. Everything here in the client is linked to the database — you can check levels, bosses and drops in advance.

ActivityWhat it is and where to look
NightmareA separate "boss challenge" content with a boss rotation. We have a breakdown of one of them — Nightmare Kaisinel guide. This is where you get the best central statue for your pantheon, plus plenty more, including strong wings and Daevanion tablets.
Ascension Trial14 instances: Kaisinel's and Zikel's dreams, the Forgotten Battlefield, Ascension Subspace and others. The main candidate for running on alts.
Daily dungeonsThree of them, and these are what feed your pets and Genus. A missed day can't be made up.
AbyssChaotic Reshanta — lower, middle and upper. Plus Abyss Commands quests.
Duty QuestsA separate quest type in the database — grab them in a batch and complete them along the way.
Zones: Verteron / Altgard, Eltnen / MorheimA daily loop through the zones. It's easy to plan your route with the world map — spawns, bosses and gathering nodes are there, plus the weekly Commands quests.
Supply Request · Shugo Festival · Invasion · BattlefieldEvent and daily activities.
Supply requests: daily, weekly and seasonal,
Shugo Festival · Invasion — daily, every 30 min, we have a timer for them on the site.
Battlefield — every day on a schedule.

5–7. Achievements, Season and Daeva Pass

5. Important achievements

The database has 1072 achievements and 1442 titles. Priority goes to those that grant titles: a title is stats, not decoration, and some of them work permanently while others only work while the title is equipped. For world bosses, just participating is enough — you don't have to land the killing blow yourself.

6. Seasonal missions

General and weekly ones. This is the densest source of progress at the start and the main flow of oath coins into the seasonal shop. Clear the weeklies early in the week: hitting them on the last day is the classic way to lose your seasonal reward.

7. Daeva Pass

Level it on your main and on every alt. This is where alts pay off fastest: the battle pass progresses from activities you're already doing for resources anyway.

8. Sanctuary

Святилище Лудры в Айон 2

Your goal is to level up as fast as possible to the point where you can farm these dungeons, because they give THE MOST of everything, and if you can farm them on alts too, your progress will speed up many times over! But the requirements here are very high — not just for gear and character strength, but also for your skill at clearing these dungeons, and without a good, well-coordinated team it will be tough.

First Week Checklist

  • Decide: solo main or main + alts. The decision is made once, on the first day.
  • Clear all solo mini-dungeons, collect feathers, pick up quests along the route.
  • Reach the 45/50 cap.
  • Start the board farm: dungeons, Shugo, achievements.
  • Start collecting Arcana.
  • Daily dungeons every day.
  • Get your golden weapon and start rolling specs.
  • Nightmare, Abyss Commands, Battlefield — in the weekly rotation.
  • Seasonal missions — every day, weeklies — early in the week.
  • Daeva Pass on all characters, not just the main.
  • Sanctuaries
